It’s fair to say that in recent times Newcastle haven’t enjoyed that much success,where back in 2009 the team suffered relegation to the second tier of English football for the first time in 16 years. However the team have bounced straight back up to the Premiership at the first attempt and will be hoping that they can build upon this and the good times can finally return to St. James’ Park.Throughout their history the team have been Champions four times prior to the 30’s, the FA Cup on six occasions, the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
