Trinidad & Tobago wicket-keeper batsman Nicolas Pooran has injured his left leg in a road accident in St Mary’s, Trinidad. Pooran, 19, was hospitalised and required surgery on the leg. He was subsequently withdrawn from T&T’s squad for the upcoming Nagico Super50 regional tournament.”He seriously hurt his ankle and knee of his left leg in the accident and unfortunately would not be able to play in the Super 50 which gets underway on January 15. We wish him a speedy recovery so he can be back to fitness,” T&T Cricket Board cricket operations officer Dudnath Ramkessoon was quoted as saying by the T&T . The paper reported that the accident occurred while Pooran was returning home after training at the National Cricket Centre at Balmain.He will be replaced in the T&T team by wicketkeeper-batsman Stephen Katwaroo.
